‘전 세계 확진자 4명 가운데 1명이 한국인’으로 집계될 정도로 현재 국내에서 코로나19 신규 확진자는 폭증하고 있다. 이 명예교수는 “코로나 사망자의 80~90%가 백신 3차 접종까지 마친 사람들이며 확진자들도 백신접종을 3차까지 끝낸 분들이 거의 대부분”이라며 “코로나19 백신은 감염 예방효과도 없고 사망자 줄이는 효과도 없는 것이 더욱 분명해졌다”고 했다.

그는 “백신패스를 강제해서 국민의 일상을 이렇게 불편하게 만드는 이런 정부가 어디에 있나”라며 “백신이 정말로 유효하고 안전하면 국민이 알아서 다 맞는다. 자기 건강 문제니까. 죽고 싶은 사람이 어디 있나. 모두들 살고 싶어한다”고 했다. 이어 “백신패스를 강제하는 것 자체가 백신이 효과가 없고 안정성도 보장이 안 된다는 것을 방증한다”며 “윤석열 정부는 백신패스를 폐기하고 유효적절한 팬데믹 정책을 다시 숙고해야 한다”고 했다.
이 명예교수는 “코로나19 백신은 절대로 답이 아니다”며 “비타민 C를 비롯해 하이드로 클로로퀸, 이버멕틴 등 치료제가 있으며, 이들의 효과를 보여주는 논문들도 많이 나왔다. 이런 치료제가 중환자들을 비롯해 환자들을 살릴 수 있다”고 거듭 강조했다.
